I shot an arrow into the air
to kill a duck flying up there.
I missed the duck unfortunately
and hit a gnarled willow-tree.

I breathed a song into the air
although it sounded like a bear
with a toothache, howling dreadfully-
So every listener ran away

I told my friend to sing along
but he just did not like my song.
Because he left with a face of frown
I took my arrow and shot him down.
